Cutting Drywall Accurately
- 1). Measure out the needed dimensions on the face of the drywall sheet. Use your pencil to mark out the measurements so you have some frame of reference for the next steps.
- 2). Place your T-square and line it up with the marks you made in Step 1. Use the T-square as a guide rail and draw a connecting line between the marks. This will leave you with a perfectly straight line right along where the cut must be made.
- 3). Mark out any other cutting lines on the drywall using the same method as prescribed.
- 4). Line the T-square up with the first cutting line so that the edge of the T-square is right alongside the line.
- 5). Score a deep line into the drywall along the cutting line with your knife. Use the T-square as a guide rail so that the knife does not go off of the cutting line.
- 6). Snap the drywall off along the scored line. The drywall will break cleanly and evenly along the score.
