How to Work With a Tourist Visa
- 1). Plan your itinerary. Select locations in the United States that are interesting and that may hold a number of jobs in your field of experience.
- 2). Enter the United States and explore your selected locations. Be sure to have proof of ties to your home country when entering, such as a letter from a current employer and financial documentation showing that your stay is funded. The border official will stamp a date on the I-94 and in the passport, showing when the tourist must leave.
- 3). Leave the United States before the allotted time has been reached.
- 4). Contact prospective employers in areas which were visited. Once outside the United States, resumes may be submitted and telephone interviews conducted.
- 5). If hired, the employer will then apply for the proper visa on the new employee's behalf.
