How to Make a Motion Goose Decoy
- 1). Cut a 1/2 inch diameter wood dowel to a length of 2 feet. Use a fine tooth saw to cut the dowel. Cut the dowel slowly to avoid splitting the wood.
- 2). Place a hard rubber plumbing washer in a vise. Position the washer so the center of the washer is easily accessible.
- 3). Expand the hole in the washer with a drill and bit. Drill the hole so it is slightly smaller than the wood dowel. Remove the washer from the vise.
- 4). Slide the washer onto one end of the 2 foot dowel. Push the washer down 1 inch from the dowel end. Use epoxy glue to secure the washer in place. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours.
- 5). Sharpen the end of the dowel opposite the washer. Use a knife to shape a sharp point. Paint the entire dowel and washer with flat gray, green, brown or black spray paint.
