How to Remove the Console From a 2007 Toyota Tacoma
- 1). Pull the cup holder and rubber mats out of the center console.
- 2). Unscrew the two fasteners that were beneath the cup holder and rubber mat using a screwdriver.
- 3). Pull out the small plastic fastener on the left side of the console.
- 4). Pry and pull the console away from the dashboard to disengage its clips connecting it to the dash trim, and remove the console.
- 1). Pry off the trim panels from the console with a trim stick. For a truck with manual transmission, this includes the drink tray panel. On an automatic, pry off the panel around the shift lever and the cup holder.
- 2). Unscrew the two screws at the rear end of the console using your screwdriver.
- 3). Pull out the carpet from the console box, and remove the two bolts underneath it with a wrench or inverted screwdriver bit. Remove the console's rear section.
- 4). Remove the two screws that are located behind the shift lever.
- 5). Detach the console from the dashboard trim by pulling it away from the dash, and remove the console.
