How to Make a Ballerina Dress

9
    • 1). Select tulle in your preferred colors, such as pink and purple or white and pink or even black and brown. Obtain at least one color of tulle or use several colors or alternating colors are preferred. For example, a basic ballerina dress might include only pink or pink and purple tulle. A rainbow ballerina, on the other hand, would have pink, purple, blue, green and orange. Get about 6 yards or so of tulle in total.

    • 2). Measure the elastic to the wearer's waist. Cut the elastic strip where the edges meet, but not overlapping. Move the elastic away and overlap it about 1 inch. Use a stapler and staple the elastic closed.

    • 3). Cut the tulle in strips about 6 inches wide and double the preferred end length.

    • 4). Slip the open tulle strips through the elastic so the middle of the tulle is at the elastic. Tie the tulle snugly in the front, and knot it to keep it from untying. Repeat with the next strip until the entire elastic band is covered with tulle and the tulle forms a skirt. If you're using more than one color, alternate strips of color.

    • 5). Glue on sequins as preferred. Adding a few sequins is optional and based on personal preference.

    • 6). Put on the tights, followed by the leotard and finally the skirt. The ballerina dress is complete.
