How to Transfer Pictures From a Disc to My Computer
- 1). Log on to your computer and insert the CD or DVD containing the photographs in your computer. Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Explore" from the menu.
- 2). Wait for Windows Explorer to open and look for the drive letter that corresponds to the CD or DVD drive. On most computers this will be the D or the E drive.
- 3). Navigate through the CD or DVD drive and find the pictures you want to copy. Take note of the location of those photographs and whether they are located in their own folders or directly on the D or E drive.
- 4). Click on the plus sign next to the C drive on your computer. Locate the spot where you want to create the folder that will hold your transferred photographs. Right click and choose "New" from the menu. Then choose "Folder" to create a new folder and type the name of that folder. For instance, you could create a folder called "Our Wedding" for your wedding and honeymoon photographs.
- 5). Click on the the CD or DVD drive and highlight the photographs you want to transfer. You can select more than one file at a time by clicking on the first photograph, holding down the "Ctrl" key and highlighting the next one. If there are a number of photographs in a row, you can highlight the first one, hold the "Shift" key down and highlight the last one. This will highlight all of the files in between as well.
- 6). Right click on the highlighted files and choose "Copy" from the menu. Then navigate to the folder you created on your hard drive, right click and choose "Paste." The files you selected will now be transferred to your computer.
