How to Remove the Factory Radio on a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500
- 1). Remove any media in the stereo (tapes, CDs, so on). Turn off the Ram's engine, set the brake, and remove the key from the ignition.
- 2). Pull open the cup holder in the dashboard. Remove the two Phillips screws that are located in the lower dash trim panel.
- 3). Shift the gearshift to the lowest position--farthest away from the dash.
- 4). Use a panel tool and carefully pry along the top of the trim panel that surrounds the receiver. Work along the sides until you can grasp the panel and pull it forward and down to remove it.
- 5). Unplug the wiring plugs connected to the back of the trim panel and remove the panel. Set it aside out of the way.
- 6). Remove the four Phillips screws located around the perimeter of the radio. Pull the radio out of the dashboard. Disconnect the plugs connected to the back panel and remove the radio.
