Cleaning and Prep

• Thoroughly clean the countertops, using an ammonia-based spray cleaner. Products such as Parsons, 409 or Mister Clean Top Job loosen surface contaminants, speeding their removal. Dry the countertops thoroughly using paper towels. Ensure remove all residues and contaminants.
  
  

Polishing

• Apply a nonabrasive countertop or granite polish, using a series of clean cloths. Popular brands include C.R. Laurence, Alpha Wet and Hope's. These brands are widely chosen due to their ease of application and durability. After application, the polish will dry to a slight haze. Bringing Back the Shine

• Mix 1/4 cup of isopropyl alcohol and everyday dish soap. Put these products in a bowl. Apply the mix with a clean sponge. After the combination sits on the counter for a few seconds, remove it with a clean sponge and cloth. A good shine should be noticeable after thoroughly wiping the counters down.
  
  

Sealing and Preservation

• Seal the countertops using one of the many available commercial sealants. Products from brands such as TileLab, Roberts and AcrylPro are carried at major home improvement stores and are designed to thoroughly penetrate any porous countertop materials. Follow the manufacturer's directions carefully for specific application and removal steps.
