How to Set Up a Bobber
- 1). Weave the end of the line through a plastic or rubber bobber stop. The bobber stop uses two openings to prevent it from sliding freely on the line. Slide a bead on the line and place it below the bobber stop. The bead prevents the bobber from pushing the stop out of place.
- 2). Slide the end of the line through the hole in the middle of the bobber. Push the line through the opening and pull it out the opposite end.
- 3). Tie the end of the line to a swivel and attach a leader with a hook to the swivel. Add bait or a lure and the rig is prepared for fishing.
- 1). Place your thumb on the bottom of the bobber. Apply pressure to the bottom while pushing down the button located on the top of the bobber. Hook the exposed clip on the fishing line.
- 2). Slide the bobber on the line until you reach the desired position. Attach a swivel, leader and hook to the end of the line.
- 3). Place your thumb on the top of the bobber and apply pressure to expose the clip on the bottom of the bobber. Hook the clip on the fishing line to fully secure the bobber to the line. Both clips must close tightly while holding the line to create an effective bobber rig.
- 1). Tie the end of the fishing line to the loop on the bobber with a clinch knot. To tie the knot, feed the tag end of the line through the loop. Wrap the tag end around the main line seven times. Feed the tag end through the opening at the base of the wraps. Pull on the main stem to tighten the knot and clip away the tag end.
- 2). Tie the end of a leader to loop on the bobber. Tie the leader to the bottom of the loop to create a 90-degree angle. Tie the leader with a clinch knot and clip the tag end.
- 3). Tie the lure to the end of the leader and add a small split shot above the lure to ensure it sinks.
