Directions for Folding Palm Crosses

23
    • 1). Pick a single palm leaf off of the branch. The healthier the leaf, the better your cross will be.

    • 2). Hold the palm horizontally and fold it in half. Hold it so that half the palm is pointing up in the air. Take the half that is pointing upward and fold it down.

    • 3). Fold it back up toward the air. Fold it so it goes behind the fold you previously made. You are making a square that will be the middle of your cross.

    • 4). Fold the other side of the palm across the front of the square. This is the horizontal part of the palm. Take this piece of the palm and thread it back through the hole in the square. This hole is on the back of the square. Pull the palm tightly all the way through. Make sure not to pull too hard and rip the palm.

    • 5). Thread the top part of the palm downward through the square. Don't pull it all the way through. This will be the top of your cross.

    • 6). Thread the same piece of cross back up through the square. Don't pull this all the way through either. It will serve as the bottom of your cross. The bottom of the cross should be a little bit longer than the top.

    • 7). Take the horizontal piece of the palm and thread it through the square. It will be easier if you start with the horizontal piece pointing to the right. Then thread it over to the left. This will create the right side of the cross. Make sure to leave enough palm to create equal sides.

    • 8). Thread the horizontal piece back through the square. Make sure to make even sides. You can now cut the extra strand of palm off with some scissors and you will have a finished cross.
