    • The University of Washington's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers both graduate and undergraduate programs. The environmental engineering concentration is intended to teach students the various specialization areas within the field including water, wastewater, hazardous and industrial wastes and regulations. The program gives an overview of each area to allow a student who wants to specialize to make an informed decision when choosing specific areas for advanced study. The undergraduate Civil and Environmental Program allows a student to specialize in areas such as environmental and geotechnical engineering. The undergraduate degree is fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

    Seattle University

    • Based in the city of Seattle, the university offers a bachelor's program in civil engineering with an environmental engineering specialty. What makes the Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seattle university unique is the Engineering Project Center, in which students in their senior year have to participate in a year-long design project; these are real projects with clients. This provides students with a chance to obtain practical experience before graduation. You will, with the help of a faculty adviser, work with a private company or a government agency to develop a project proposal, "conduct the design analysis and present the result in a public forum," according to the school.

    Cascadia Community College

    • The college offers an Associate of Science in Environmental Engineering to prepare you to transfer to four-year college to complete a bachelor's degree. According to Forbes magazine, starting with two years in a community college and transferring to a senior institution does not diminish the quality of your education; rather, it saves you money while receiving a good education in a small and interactive setting. By spending two years at a community college before going to graduate at four-year college, you can save between $6,800 and $35,000 in tuition and fees, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education. Cascadia Community College works with their students who wish to transfer to a four-year college.
