Spiritual Eating for More Energy

5
Spiritual Eating is understanding that what we consume we become.
Food is one of the most important investments that we can make.
Food is spiritual and metaphysical.
When we understand that we are consuming the residual energy of the animals and the plants that we are eating then our respect and appreciation for food will shift.
Many people eat with out thinking about what they are putting into their bodies.
There are metaphysical aspects of the residual food energy but also the practical aspects of taking care of your health by eating the proper nutritious foods.
Hopefully, as you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday (here in the U.
S.
) and you're getting ready to eat, you will appreciate the food and where it came from.
Residual Energy We have to really understand where the food comes from and how it was treated.
You are bringing that food into your body, it's breaking down and becoming your energy.
We understand that everything is in motion.
When you consume something you are consuming the energy.
However that energy was treated, if it suffered when it died, you are bringing that energy into your body.
What are you bringing into your body? How was it treated? Did it suffer when it died? Does it have chemicals? Is it a whole food or is it engineered and altered by man and technology? Gratitude No matter what you consume you must give thanks.
For example in the movie Avatar, they thank the Universe and appreciate the bounty that was before them every time they eat.
You have to appreciate what is given to you to sustain your life.
This fits right into Thanksgiving.
We have to remember that we treat food as sacred.
It's important for our children that we start at a young age to realize that they need to be grateful for the food that they are eating.
We have to have an awareness that the thing that you are eating gave it's life for you.
We want to have legitimate gratitude to the plant or animal that we are eating because they have given you their energy.
Education We have to understand that food and dining is a spiritual experience.
We have to educate ourselves about food and that we make it a spiritual experience.
You have to understand food, why you eat it, where it comes form.
We get away from the processed foods because you don't want to corrupt this spiritual experience with garbage.
Eat Local Try to get your food from farmer's markets.
It's a much better way to eat.
It's spiritual and you are supporting local sustainable agriculture.
We are what we eat.
Food is paramount to the lifestyle that we want to live.
Eat local.
Consume local products because it will make a huge difference in your life.
What are the local things that you can eat in your area? What are the farmers bringing to market? Share Your Meals Have potluck dinners.
Get friends together and share a meal.
Find something that you can bring that is interesting.
This is something that can affect the young children in your life and teach them the importance of dining as a family or with friends.
It's important to have this congruent energy in your group.
Become The Student Become a student of food.
Start learning about food history.
Understand what happens in your local food sources.
Then you can make informed and positive food choices.
You can also become a teacher when you help other people embrace the idea of spiritual eating.
We consume and throw out huge amounts of waste because we forget to have respect to the animals and plants that we are eating.
We want to be aware of this.
We change our dietary pattern when we realize that the food that we consume is giving us ultimately the energy to live our dynamic life.
Put food where it needs to be in the hierarchy of our priorities.
Give food the love that it deserves.
Food is an investment.
Make sure that you are giving it the respect and gratitude that it deserves.
