    • 1). Turn the computer off and flip it over. Locate the battery removal switch. Push the switch into the unlock position and pull the battery out.

    • 2). Flip the computer upright and lay it on a flat surface. Open the screen as far as it will go so that the entire computer is essentially flat against the working surface.

    • 3). Locate the small indent next to the right hinge that connects the display to the keyboard. Stick the end of a small flat-head screwdriver in the indention and pry up until the hinge cover comes loose. Carefully lift the entire hinge cover, working from the right side to the left side. Set the cover aside in a safe spot.

    • 4). Remove the four screws that keep the display connected to the computer. There should be two screws in each metal hinge. Set the screws aside in a safe place.

    • 5). Locate the plug that connects the display to the motherboard. Loosen the screw that keeps the plug in place and unplug the connection.

    • 6). Pull the display away from the rest of the computer and carefully lay it down on its back.

    • 7). Pry off the rubber bumpers around the edges of the plastic display bezel with the flat-head screwdriver. Remove the screws beneath the bumpers and set them aside. Carefully lift the display bezel away from the display.

    • 8). Locate the tiny screws on the sides of the display that keep the display in place. There should be four screws on each side. Remove these screws and set them aside.

    • 9). Lift the display and carefully set it aside in a safe place. The inverter should be easily visible near the bottom of where the display was. It is a small rectangular piece that is held in place with a screw.

      Remove the screw that holds the inverter in place. Pull the inverter away.

      Reverse the steps above to put the computer back together.
