  Many automobiles can benefit from window treatments. Whether you drive a car and want to reduce the effects of the sun, or you drive a cargo van or RV and need a little privacy, there are window treatments available to meet your needs. The two main varieties are shades and blinds. Shades are used primarily to block the sun, they are temporary and can be easily removed or moved. Shades are best suited for a car. Blinds are more permanent, must be installed and cannot be easily moved. Blinds are best suited for a large van or RV.
  
  

Sun Shades

• Sun Shades are popular among families with babies and small children. The shades block heat, UB rays and glare from the sun, making the back seat much more comfortable. The shades are temporary and attach to your side windows with suction. The sun shades can be easily moved from window to window. Most sun shades have a dark, mesh look, but some have cartoon characters, sports mascots and other entertaining designs.
  
  

Pleated or Cellular Shades

• Pleated shades are designed with pleats of fabric. Cellular shades are designed with cells of space in between. Both pleated and cellular shades look similar and give the window a clean appearance. The space in cellular shades helps insulate the window and keeps out very warm or cold weather. The larger the cells, the more energy efficient the blind is. Both options are available in different colors to match the decor or carpet. These shades are adjustable so you can raise them and see out the window, but you cannot see through the shade when it is lowered.
  
  

Mini-Blinds

• Mini-blinds are another option for covering your window. Mini-blinds are usually sold in 1" size slats and can be made or adjusted to fit your window. The blinds can be raised, lowered or adjusted so you can see through the blinds. Mini-blinds are also available with aluminum slats. The aluminum variety repels dusts and has a more modern appearance than the traditional mini-blinds made from plastic.
