Panic : Life Of A Knitter

71
When I start my knitting for the Holiday Season I always think I give myself enough time.

Well, it is crunch time and all the socks I was going to knit and the felted purses I planned on making are not going to be done.

What I have done instead is made everyone a couple of knitted cotton face cloths.

What is there to panic about ?

Now that I have started, all the people that see me knitting them have put in an order for some.

I might as well have kept up with all the bigger projects because now I am behind in the face cloths too.

This is not the end of the world but, I put pressure on myself to get them all done and that is where the panic comes in.

You see, for me a lot of the anxiety and panic I have felt has been brought on by myself.

I think if we step back and examine the times we get into the throws of panic we may find that we are our own worst enemy.

Once we realize that we can only do so much in a certain amount of time I think the pressure is removed and we end up actually getting a lot more done than we thought.

Besides, I will probably give some of the people who ordered the face cloths an I.O.U. for after December 25th.

They were ordering to help me out with a bit of money for presents so there is no need to fret.

We will have a laugh about it and I will tell them my story like I did here.

It is amazing how understanding people can be if you give them a chance.

This little story may seem like gibberish to some of you, however I am making a point here.

Do not sweat the small stuff. I am sure you have heard this before.

Stop the madness of expecting everything to be perfect and just let yourself be human.

A good friend of mine said that in a hundred years who will care.

Enjoy what you do because what is the sense of worrying to the point of panic and anxiety.

Stop and think about what is important, certainly not a few cotton face cloths.

Pick your battles and then give yourself permission to leave the battle field still standing.
