Each light box has different exposure levels, so your doctor can help you decide how long each session should be.
The typical patient will begin with 15 minute daily sessions, and work his or her way up to as much as 2 hours of treatment a day.
The key to successful treatment is consistency.
Set aside time each day to complete your session.
Skipping sessions may make the treatment less effective.
What can patients hope to achieve? When using light therapy for depression, a patient can expect many positive results.
While your SAD won't cure your condition, you will enjoy noticeable improvements in your symptoms.
Your energy levels will increase and you'll have a more positive outlook on life.
Work with your doctor to find the light box that's right for you, remember to use it consistently, don't skip treatments or stop them too soon, and always adhere to your doctor's other treatment guidelines.
