How to Tie Snelled Fishing Hooks With an Egg Loop Knot

33
    • 1). Push the working end of the fishing line through the eye of the hook, and push it down the length of the shank. Wrap the standing end of the line around the shank of the hook beginning just below the eye of the hook. Begin wrapping the standing end down the shank of the hook.

    • 2). Dress the wraps neatly as you make them to prevent the wraps from overlapping. Make 15 to 20 wraps, and pull several inches of additional line through the eye of the hook. Maintain tension on the wrappings as you do this, so the wrappings don't uncoil.

    • 3). Thread the standing end of the line through the hook's eye from the bottom. Use the loop that you created in Step 2 to continue wrapping the line around the hook and the standing end of the line. Make approximately five more wraps.

    • 4). Slowly pull the standing end of the line through the hook's eye to take up the remaining loop. Maintain the tension on the wraps as you do this until you're able to pull the entire knot tight.

    • 5). Make an egg loop of the desired size by pushing line on the standing end back through the hook's eye from the top. Attach loose bait such as an egg cluster to the egg loop, and pull the line tight once again.
