  The fertile fishing grounds off the Grand Banks of Canada near Halifax employ a robust fishing industry including lobster fishing. This fishing industry also supports the tourism industry, which provides fishing charters to include lobster fishing charters. Murphy's Boat Charters

• Murphy's Boat Charters offers a number of different charters aboard one of its seven vessels. Aboard the Peggy's Cove Express, a 44-foot ship able to hold up to 37 passengers, the charter can be reserved for lobster fishing as well as other functions such as receptions. Murphy's Boat Charters are the most comfortable of Halifax lobster charters but may not be the best choice for serious lobster fishing. Blue Diamond Tours

• Blue Diamond Tours offer in-depth tours of Nova Scotia including lobster fishing adventures. The lobster portion of the "L" tour occurs aboard the Chris L, which is a converted lobster boat used for tours during the summer months. Lobstermen Tours

• Lobstermen Tours are nearly as close to the commercial lobster fishing life as a tourist can get. As of August 2010, for about $35 passengers are able to haul in lobster traps and experience the life of a true lobsterman. The charters last about two hours but the crew is able to arrange for longer tours depending on the client and the price they want to pay.
