S10 Frame Specs

30
    • The Chevrolet S10 made its first appearance in the 1980s and eventually became one of the most popular lightweight pickup trucks ever produced. The first generation S10 hit the market in 1982 and lasted until production shifted to the second generation in 1993. The S10 was ultimately discontinued in 2004 to make way for Chevrolet's new lightweight pickup, the Colorado.

    Options

    • With over two decades of production experience, Chevrolet eventually released the S10 in several styles, models, and trims, which each included different cab sizes --- such as regular, extended and crew cab. The S10 frame was made more complex when it was outfitted to different lengths, including a long and short bed.

    Regular

    • The base version of the Chevrolet S10 is the regular cab, which comes with either a long or short bed and is available with two doors. The wheelbase of the long-bed version is roughly 117.90 inches, while the short-bed is slightly smaller with only 108.30 inches. The cab size hovers right at 71 inches.

The vehicle has a total width of 64 inches and is roughly 61 inches high. The short-bed version's cargo area is a total of 178.20 inches, while the longer version is 194.20 inches. The vehicle models are identical in width --- both being nearly 55 inches wide with a depth of nearly 17 inches.

    Extended

    • The extended-cab version of the S10 only comes with a short bed due to the increase in cab size. The cab's length is roughly 85.5 inches. The overall length is 205 inches, while the wheelbase is roughly 123 inches. The extended-cab stands at 63.40 inches and is 67.90 inches wide. The cargo bed is roughly 55 inches wide and 17 inches deep, and measures nearly 73 inches in length.

    Crew

    • The crew-cab version of the S10 includes four doors and holds up to five passengers. It matches the extended-cab regarding its external specs, including a length of 205 inches and a wheelbase of 123 inches. The width of the truck is 68 inches. The height is the usual 63.40 inches. The main difference in the crew-cab version of the S10 is the cargo bed, which is smaller since there is more cab space. The length of the cargo bed is 55.30 inches with a width of 54.90 inches. Like other models, the cab is 17 inches deep.
