How to Put Music onto a PSP Using a Memory Stick

    • 1). Insert a Memory Stick into the Sony PSP's Memory Stick port.

    • 2). Connect the PSP to your computer. Insert the mini USB end of the mini USB-to-USB adapter into the PSP's mini USB port. Insert the USB end of the adapter into an available USB port on the computer.

    • 3). Open the "Settings" menu on your PSP and select "USB Connection" to allow your computer to recognize the device.

    • 4). Double-click the PSP's device icon in your computer's file manager, such as Windows Explorer or Finder. Doing so opens its file folder.

    • 5). Launch a second file manager window. Open the folder containing the MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV or ATRAC3 files you want to transfer to the PSP Memory Stick.

    • 6). Drag and drop the music file or folder icons from their window into the folder labeled "Portable Storage Device," "Memory Stick" or whatever you may have named the Memory Stick directory.

    • 7). Safely remove the PSP from your computer. Right-click the PSP device icon and and select "Eject" or "Safely Remove Device" from the drop-down menu before disconnecting the console from your computer.
