These are the best methods I have used personally, to keep my acne at bay.
I try to keep to this regime regularly.
After many months of observation, I do feel they work for me! Top 4 secret home remedies I use: 1) Sleep Early Sleeping early does wonders for my skin.
I notice if I keep many late nights in a row, I will be more prone to having pimples.
But if I sleep early for a few nights, my complexion actually improves.
It is said that "beauty sleep" is most effective from 10 pm to 2 am, so try to sleep at least by 11pm every night to get the most out of this precious time frame.
Being a "night owl", I know it's not easy though.
I have to practically drag myself to bed! 2) Keep The Stress Away I often find myself the target of acne breakouts if I feel very stressed.
If you are a student, do you find yourself having more pimples when you are preparing for your upcoming exams? If you are a working adult, do you find yourself having acne flare-ups especially when you have deadlines to meet and never-ending tasks to complete? This actually happens to most people.
When I am really stressed, I try to take some time off to take a breather.
Exercise is quite a good stress reliever as I often feel more relaxed after a good workout.
Sometimes, I take a stroll by the beach for some fresh air.
When you feel really weighed down, give yourself a break by doing the things you enjoy.
I observe that when I am feeling happier, my acne problem actually subsides too.
3) Drink More Water If I drink a lot of carbonated drinks or drinks high in sugar content and not much water, I somehow feel sluggish and pimples will appear.
So now I stick to drinking more water, or green tea and less of carbonated drinks or coffee.
Green tea is an anti-oxidant and is great for the body.
Drinking a cup of water first thing in the morning before you take your breakfast is a healthy practice as well.
It is believed that the water flushes the toxins accumulated in your body throughout the night away.
4) Eat More Fruits And Vegetables I find that including more fruits and vegetables in my diet is beneficial for clearing my skin.
Sometimes due to busy schedules, I eat out and often eat junk food without much vegetable.
I could also go without fruits for a few days.
But I learned it the hard way that these unhealthy habits create chaos for my skin.
Do eat more fruits and vegetables, even if you dislike it.
It is recommended to have at least 2 servings of each every day for a balanced diet.
