How to Hook Chub Minnows
- 1). Hold the minnow at the middle of its body with the head up.
- 2). Slide the hook though the lower and upper lips, with the tip of the hook pointing upward.
- 3). Push the hook until the chub minnow is positioned into the hook bend. Tug gently to ensure that the bait is secure. The upright position will allow the minnow to appear to swim naturally.
- 1). Cut the chub minnow into squares or chunks in a size that matches the fish you are targeting. Choose a chunk size that can be threaded onto the hook easily. Keep the skin on the bait so that it will hold better when hooked.
- 2). Slide the hook through the middle of the cut bait.
- 3). Push the cut bait through until it is securely positioned into the bend of the hook.
