How to Disable Internet Explorer From Being the Default Browser
- 1). Download and install the Web browser that you want to use before changing the default Web browser. You can choose from a variety of Web browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Google Chrome.
- 2). Click the Windows "Start" button and then click the "Set program access and defaults" option. This launches the "Add or Remove Programs" dialog box.
- 3). Click the "Custom Level" button, and then click the arrow to your right. Under "Choose a default Web browser," click the Web browser other than Internet Explorer that you want to use as your default Web browser, and then click "OK" to save the changes.
