Hispanic Heritage Month takes place Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, and celebrates Hispanic culture and what the Hispanic people have contributed to the U.S. In Michigan, there are several festivals organized to honor this month. The entertainment includes Hispanic films, dance, art and music; food and crafts are also big draws. - The Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival is held every year at Centennial Park in Holland, MI. The festival typically takes place the first weekend of Hispanic Heritage Month, and showcases art and film from Hispanic artists, both local and national. The festival features free admission, and the event typically shows about 10 films over the two day and night festival. Snacks are on sale, and proceeds go to support the non-profit organization that runs it.
