How to Sync an iTunes Library Between a Mac & PC
- 1). Launch the iTunes software on the computer you want to copy from. Click "Advanced" from the top navigation menu and select "Turn On Home Sharing."
- 2). Type in the "Apple ID" and "Password." Click the "Create Home Share" button. You will receive a message that says, "Home Sharing is now on."
- 3). Go to your second computer, where you want to copy the iTunes Library to. Open the iTunes software.
- 4). Click "Advanced," select "Turn On Home Sharing," and then type in your Apple ID credentials. Click "Create Home Share." It is important that you use the same Apple ID that you did on the first computer, otherwise the home sharing process will not work.
- 5). Go to the "Home Sharing" panel on the left sidebar. Locate the first computer's iTunes library.
- 6). Click and hold down on the iTunes library label. Drag it on top of the "Music" label below the "Library" panel or a separate playlist. Release it and the files should automatically transfer from the first computer to the second. The transfer process may take a few minutes. iTunes will notify you when the transfer is complete.
- 7). Go back to the first computer that has iTunes still open. Click the "Home Sharing" label in the left sidebar and select the second computer's library. Move it over and release it on top of the "Music" label. Alternatively, you can create a separate playlist for those songs, but regardless, it will transfer to the first computer.
