You simply take the machine, fill it up with water and wait a few minutes for it to get hot enough, and then run the machine over the surfaces.
You will probably want to hook on one of the various attachments that come with the machine, like a squeegee for your mirrors or windows, a detail brush, etc, and you'll also want to wipe down the surfaces with a clean cloth so that they're dry and any dirt that's been removed with the machine gets picked up.
This requires you to buy nothing else really, and has the advantage of giving you this one light product to carry around the house while you clean.
