T-Shirt Decorating Ideas
- Cut slits (about 2 inches long) into the hem and/or the edges of the sleeves. Tie the slits into knots to add eye-catching detail to these areas.
- Use puff paint or permanent markers to draw and write on your t-shirts. Place a piece of cardboard inside the t-shirt first, so that the paint and markers don't leak through the fabric.
- Use hot glue or a needle and thread to secure embellishments such as glitter, rhinestones, beads or sequins to your t-shirt.
- Make various cuts across your t-shirt. Use the cuts to form different patterns. For instance, make several parallel cuts across the front of the shirt to indicate a striped look.
- Use colorful safety pins to pin up parts of the shirt. You may make the shirt shorter by pinning up the bottom portion or make the sleeves shorter by gathering and pinning them. The possibilities are almost endless.
