Naming Your House Cleaning Business
It's one of the first steps in starting your house cleaning business - giving your new business a name! There are a few ways you can go about it.
- Do you want your name to be personal or public? Jane Smith's House Cleaning Service -or- Anderson Maid Service ensures people know that it's you who owns the business.
Some people may think that putting your name on the business gives it a "small" feel and would rather go with something that sounds like it's a "larger" business.
Others may prefer the more personal name. - Is it easy to pronounce and spell? If you go with your last name in the business name, it should be fairly easy to pronounce and spell for most people.
If your name happens to be something like Schwarzenegger, you may want to re-think using this in your business name! - Is the domain name available? If you're going to own a business you'll need a website (even if you don't plan on launching one right away).
Check with a registrar like GoDaddy to see if a domain name is available that matches your business name. - Will your business name allow you to grow? If you plan on expanding your services from residential to commercial cleaning sometime in the future, you may want to consider whether "Susie's Residential Cleaning Services" will serve you going forward.
You still want your business name to fit what you do, but you may want to make it a little bit generic so you can exand the business later.
Something like "Susie's Cleaning Services" could fit both residential and commercial cleaning.
