How to Paint a Clay Flower Pot for a Wedding
- 1). Paint a thin coat of primer onto the clay flower pot to help the spray paint stick and to completely cover the orange color of the pot. Let dry.
- 2). Paint a layer of white spray paint over the primer and let dry. Apply a second coat of spray paint over the primer, and let dry.
- 3). Wrap a stencil around the pot and tape it in place. Select a stencil with a pattern like a lattice or other intricate design, which you can find at most craft stores.
- 4). Pour some acrylic paint onto a paper plate. Use a color that goes with the motif of your wedding, like lilac or sea green. Dab a foam paint brush into the paint and apply it over the stencil, covering the stencil pattern with a thin layer of the acrylic paint. Let dry.
- 5). Peel the stencil from the pot, and fill it with flowers or other decorations of your choice.
