Credit Repair Know-How - You Can Do the Same Thing a Credit Repair Company Does - And Do it For FREE

25
If you're looking into credit repair, you probably already know that you don't really have a whole lot of options.
In fact, when it comes down to it, there's only one way to repair credit, and that is by sending out credit dispute letters.
The only option you really have, and that's who will create and send out those letters.
The first thing you need to decide is if you have a lot of money to invest in the process, or if you want take the inexpensive (in fact, practically free) route and tackle this process on your own.
The first option is going to be somewhat easier, but you have to be okay with dropping $500 - $1500 into a credit repair company's pocketbook.
But if you're in a position where that money needs to stay in your own pocketbook, then it's probably time to think about how to repair your bad credit on your own.
You could spend hours on the internet figuring this out, but since you found this article, you don't have to do that.
There are a lot of resources that offer free help with self credit repair, and there are also plenty of sample credit letters on the internet, but you do want to be careful what you believe when you're out in the wide world of cyberspace researching this (or any) topic.
Unfortunately, most 'instructional' credit web sites complicate things so much that the average consumer may become overwhelmed and decide to give up and just click on one of those many, many ads for a credit repair company.
Often times those sites your research has brought you to might actually be owned by such a company and they are trying to get you to fill something out so they can call you about repairing your credit.
There is a lot of money made by businesses that repair credit, and they have a lot of ways of getting those fees out of consumers.
I recently got a promotional email from a company that boldly stated that their average credit repair specialists make $600 in only 30 minutes of work! The email went on to boast that their specialists make more money than Johnny Cochran made off OJ, as Johnny only charged OJ $500 per hour.
That's right; if it's not technically criminal, it ought to be.
If these companies are making $600 for 30 minutes of work, that works out to $1200/hour.
I am not opposed to a business making money, but considering the service that these company provide, that amount of money is plain ridiculous.
Basically, credit repair companies write credit dispute letters for their clients.
Most of them have credit repair software that enables them to create these credit repair letters in just a few minutes.
The software is not expensive.
The companies simply rely on the fact that credit repair seems complicated to most laypeople.
Here's a good rule of thumb to keep in mind while you're researching the subject of Credit Repair: if a site or service is trying to tell you how terribly complicated it is to repair your own credit, or if it is trying to charge you more than a day's wage for the service, run! Don't click on any of their ads or believe their misinformation.
There is good information available out there, and there are services that you can use that won't charge you an arm and a leg.
Look for those, and self credit repair will suddenly become a lot more manageable and a lot less expensive.
In fact, it will become free, as it should be.
