Computer Monitor OSD

• The OSD controls for computer monitors are normally activated by pressing a button or combination of buttons at the bottom of the monitor screen. For example, you press one button to show the brightness settings on the OSD control panel. By pressing the designated scrolling button, you can adjust the brightness of the display.
  
  

Monitor OSD Options

• Computer monitors provide you with several OCD setting options. You can adjust the width and height of the display on the screen. You can adjust the white level with the contrast button and the black level with the brightness button. Some monitors, such as those manufactured by Dell, have additional options, such as presets that optimally configure the monitor for specialized viewing scenarios, such as Standard, Multimedia, Cool, Warm or Game for video game play. Some monitors also include a Color Temperature setting in the OSD.
  
  

TV OSDs

• On most televisions, the OSD is activated either using the “Menu” or similar button on the remote control, or by pressing the OSD buttons located on the TV set. OSD controls on a TV include display calibration options similar to those on computer monitors, such as brightness and contrast.
  
  

TV OSD Options

• TV OSD options generally encompass every setting for the TV. OSD controls include channel setting options such as Automatic Search to locate all available channels and Favorites to allow you to configure only certain channels to be available for viewing. Parental control options are also found in the OSD panel. And you usually find sound settings and language options in a TV OSD.
