While reading should not take the place of practicing, it can help if you are getting tips from talented photographers.

Challenge Yourself While you are protracting by taking lots of photos, mix it up and try some different things.
Don't only take landscape photos.
Mix in some variety and try things like portraits, photo journalism, and anything else that will challenge and interest you.
