How to Make a Pickle Costume
- 1). Measure the costume wearer's body from head to hip, and add an additional 8 inches to the measurement.
- 2). Cut four long crescent- or football shapes as long as your measurement with sharp shears.
- 3). Set the four felt pieces on a flat surface and align them side by side vertically. Glue their edges together in the form of a pickle. Leave an opening in one seam so the costume wearer can put on the outfit.
- 4). Turn the costume right side out so the seams can remain hidden. Fasten any gaps or openings with safety pin when its worn.
- 5). Cut out a hole large enough for the person's face, legs and arms. Make sure the cut-outs will be big enough for the person to comfortably see or fit through.
- 6). Add pickle bumps to finalize the costume. Cut out 10 to 15 small circles from the light green felt. Fasten the circles with felt glue sporadically over the costume.
- 7). Allow the glue to dry for at least 30 minutes before wearing the costume.
