Colestipol Side Effects

- Colestipol is available in a granule form. Mix the granules with three ounces of liquid, thin soup or crushed fruit and take by mouth.
- Take colestipol four hours before or one hour after other medications. Colestipol can interfere with the absorption of other medications if taken at the same time.

- Serious side effects of colestipol include unusual bleeding that can occur from any place on the body such as the gums or rectum. Contact your physician immediately if you experience this side effect.
