How to Control Panic Attacks - Control Your Mind

In order for you to effectively control your attacks, you must be able to effectively control your thoughts.
A mentor once told me that panic attack is a disorder that loves to play tricks with your mind; things will seem to be a lot worse than they really are.
We have already agreed that in order to control panic attacks you have to effectively control your mind.
Saying that is easy, doing it is a little challenging.
You do not need to worry though because I will share an easy-to-follow guide in controlling your attacks.
The first thing that you have to work on is acceptance of your disorder.
Some people find it difficult to accept that they are stricken by the disorder and because of that they often deny the reality of their situation.
This is very unhealthy because without acceptance, you will never have the courage to go on with your therapy.
Yes, courage; you will need a lot of these and it is best that you set your mind to expect for the worst.
This is not to shoo you away but in order for you to follow through with your therapy, you have to know it is not going to be easy.
At some point, it might be a little uncomfortable and emotionally draining.
Why do I say that you should expect for the worst? Because if your mind is programmed to think that way, anything less than the worst would seem very easy.
However, be careful not to be stressed out by these thoughts; expect the worst but take it lightly; there is no need really to make it the center of your life.
Now that you have that mind set, prepare your body for the therapy.
It is not only important that you are mentally sound; you have to be physically strong too.
Eat a balance diet and exercise regularly to build up your energy.
On top of that, if your body is health you actually lessen the stress it is enduring.
What is all the energy for? No, the energy is not only for when you have an attack; you will also need a lot of energy so that you have the capacity to focus your mind in to doing something.
Your mind needs to focus on one thing and one thing alone - not having panic attacks.
Those are the easiest ways to control your mind and later on control your panic attacks.
You may also want to enroll in a yoga or meditation class because they will teach you how to keep your mind calm whenever you are in a stressful situation.
