• Every sporting franchise seeks to find endorsement from a real-world star of the sport, and paintball is no exception. Paintballing star Greg Hastings' licensed game, "Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball Max'd," brings the paintball guru's seal of approval to a no-nonsense tournament game. The series has seen incarnations on a range of machines from the Nintendo Game Boy Advance to Microsoft Xbox, and the Max'd label signaled its debut on Playstation. Though there are a variety of gameplay styles---Capture the Flag, Elimination, and smaller or larger-scale tournaments---the title plays a quick game with an emphasis on fast one-shot take-downs.
  
  

"NPPL Championship Paintball"

• "NPPL Championship Paintball's" publishers, Activision, released the game at a budget price. But that shouldn't signal a lack of attention or detail. Developed with the cooperation of the National Professional Paintball League (America's professional paintball organization), the game is packed with official details. It boasts a career mode that will see players progress through the ranks of the NPPL, from the neighborhood shoot-outs of the rookie league to international competition in the Millennium European Paintball Series. Instead of attempting to re-create the standard first-person shooter with paintball graphics, NPLL Championship Paintball is touted as a ground-up reworking of the genre, centered around true-to-life paintball rules and styles of play.
