Desperate for a holiday but only have a weekend? Never fear there are plenty of things you can do that will have your weekend feeling like it was a week! Some ideas include:
1. Road trip:
Sure it would be better if you had an entire week, but you don't so plan your route accordingly. Open up a map and clock how far you can get in 48 hours. Grab a friend or even go on your own. Pack a tent or maybe even sleep in your car, if it doesn't bother you. Otherwise there ought to be some little bed and breakfasts around. You can stop in at little roadside diners, get out at scenic spots along the way and stretch your legs and maybe even have a drink with the locals. Some fresh air and new scenery will do you good.

No one needs more than a couple of days at the spa. Head out on Friday after work and arrive in time for dinner. Wake up on Saturday morning in a new bed to a personalised schedule packed with lush treatments. Spend two days moving from mud bath to massage to facial to pedicure. After a weekend of pampering, healthy eating and exercise you'll go home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Wake up early on Saturday morning so that you can watch the sun rise from up in the sky, enjoy a delicious breakfast upon landing. If all you want to do is relax, then head back to your hotel, grab some newspapers, put on your cosiest clothes and order room service.
