How to Make 550 Cord Deployment Bracelets

17
    • 1). Choose a color of 550 cord that signifies your deployment team. If you are not in the army, choose a color that reflects your personality and individuality.

    • 2). Measure and cut 15 feet of 550 cord.

    • 3). Lay the cord vertically on your work space. Fold the cord in half, with the two loose ends facing away from you. Measure and mark the spot that is 7 and 1/2 feet above the bottom of the cord.

    • 4). Arrange the two loose 550 cords, so that one lies to the left and one to the right of this mark. The two cords below the knot are called the central cords.

    • 5). Place the left cord underneath the central cords, and out the other-side. Place the right cord underneath the central cords, and through the loop created by the left cord. Gently manipulate the two top loops with your fingers to create enough space for the ends to fit through after the bracelet is completed. Repeat this process until only 1 inch of the central cord remains. Pull the ends of the left and right cords tightly to create a neat and even knotted bracelet.

    • 6). Cut the two loose edges, so that they are 1 inch longer than the circumference of your wrist. Tie each end of the loose cord ends in a double knot. Carefully light the end of the cords with the lighter for a few seconds, to seal to cords and prevent them from fraying. Leave the ends of the cord to cool for one minute.

    • 7). Place the deployment bracelet around your wrist. Push the two knotted ends through the two holes in the top of the bracelet to secure it in place.
