This Mahrashtrian superstar who stars in Tamil films has an appeal that transcends gender, race and state.

In fact his role and demeanour would do credit to younger actors.

Rajnikant plays a scientist who invents a humanoid Robot.
This Robot has all the qualities of a human being except the sense of feeling.
The scientist is trying to sell this Robot to the Indian Army.

The beauty of the entire scenario is that the humanoid Robot is a duplicate of his inventor, the scientist.
The story takes an unusual twist as the scientist infuses the sense of emotion and feeling in the Robot.
This sets up an interesting clash as the Robot falls in love with the lady love of the scientist played by Aishwariya Rai.
Ms Rai looks lovely in her role and the viewer can appreciate how a Robot can fall in love with a human being.
