Stress and anxiety if not managed well, can be very detrimental to our health.
Many killer diseases such as heart attacks and cancers are stress related diseases.
Hence, it is very important that we learn to manage and cope with our daily stress.
Stress can be responded in three stages: 1.
The Alarm Stage: The body recognizes the stress and get ready for action either to fight or to flee.
Once the threat or stress sensor is triggered, adrenaline is produced in our body against the threat.
Breathing will accelerate, heart rate will increase and blood pressure will rise.

The Resistance Stage: The second stage is the Resistance stage whereby the body will repair any damages caused by the alarming reaction but if the stress persists, the body will be on his guard and will not be able to repair the damage cells.

The Exhaustion Stage: With prolonged exposure and continuation of resistance to stress, fatigue and a stress-related disturbance, the body will be overloaded, hence, it will fail to respond to any foreign attacks on the immune system, resulting in diseases and may even lead to death.
The Exhaustion Stage Of Stress The exhaustion stage of stress is one of the most detrimental.
The entire body of a man is responding to the stress.
The body senses response to the stress which lead to fear in the brain.
Our body and mind can handle well with temporarily stress.
The twist comes when we are constantly exposed to stress day to day.
Our body will not be able to handle this stress indefinitely so, the first thing to break the chains are those genetically vulnerable to body systems or organs.
For example, narrowed blood vessels, a hereditary disease; or overweight people may have a huge risk of stroke or heart attack.
Even if the body health does not fail, a man with constant stress is paving his own path to the cemetery.
Consequence Of Stress If Not Managed Well When someone says that he is "burn-out", it is characterized by recurrent headaches, a feeling of absolute fatigue, insomnia, muscular pains or shortness of breath etc.
Emotionally, the "burnt out" person can be fearful, irritated, angered, crying, excessively suspicious, feels empty, life becomes meaningless to him and he doubts himself.
His mind feels drowsy, he forgets about things, get confused.
In extreme cases, he can separate himself from people, hiding and suffer from depression.
How To Manage Stress The opposite of stress is relaxation.
When you are under stress, or at the heat of the moment, try to take a deep breath or stretch the legs, take a walk in the garden and smell the flowers, or even just a little smile can do wonders for the spirit.
Practice relaxation exercises throughout the day.
You will find that your mind will be less tensed and stress will be reduced.
If your situation so tensed that you are at the point of losing your temper, count to ten or more that is needed to make you calmer, if required, walk away from the situation so that your mind can be freed.
If you are stressed in work, do not panic.
The more you panic, the more stress you will feel.
Instead, be calm so that your mind is free to think clearly.
Work out a plan and work according to your plan.
Try talking to your boss if you really cannot cope with it.
Chat with your friends and loved ones if something hinders you.
You will find that there are many solutions to handle your situation and it may not be such a big problem after all.
Ultimately,it is imperative that you get enough sleep, you eat healthily and exercise regularly.
And, best advice here is: "When you need help, get it.
No mortal in the world can survive alone.
