How to Decorate a Grave Site
- 1). Check with your cemetery groundskeepers or officials to find out if the cemetery has specific rules for items you cannot place at a grave site.
- 2). Place a potted plant or flower at the grave site. Using a potted plant or flower is ideal because the pot is heavy and has a better chance of surviving wind gusts at the cemetery. You want your plant or flower arrangement to remain upright long after you are gone.
- 3). Place candles in glass vases or pots around the flowers. Light them in memorial to your loved one while you are at the grave reflecting.
- 4). Place a miniature flag with a pole attached to it into the ground near the flowers. You will want to select a flag of the the country where your loved one was born. This option also works well for a veteran of a war.
