  Warsaw, Missouri, is located in the heart of Missouri, in the central region of the state. This community bands together at the holidays to provide its needy children and families with essentials and toys during these times of the year. There are several local charitable organizations, and some statewide and national organizations that help out the community of Warsaw.
  
  

Food Drive

• City Union Mission, a local evangelical Christian ministry that works in the community of Warsaw, has a holiday food drive that it hosts each year. Throughout the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, supporters of the mission are welcome to donate holiday food items as well as non-perishables. This food will be donated to about 350 low-income families throughout the community and state of Missouri. A network of churches in the Kansas City area helps deliver these holiday baskets to families.
  
  

Mission: Christmas

• City Union Mission's Mission: Christmas program is an annual program where Warsaw community members can "adopt" low-income families for the holidays. People who are interested choose the size of family they wish to adopt, and receive a recommended list of items to purchase. These items are then donated to the Mission's Presence of Love Store, and qualified families can shop at the store for free. Items donated typically include pajamas, gloves, socks and toys. Each year about 12,000 items are distributed, and about 160 food baskets are made through this program.
  
  

Turkey Trax

• The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri, which services the community of Warsaw, hosts a Thanksgiving 5K, which benefits needy children in the community. The Turkey Trax race takes place each year on Thanksgiving morning, and proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri. The Ronald McDonald House Charities provides families with sick children a place to stay near the hospital, to free them from the stress of commuting.
