Top Christian Songs For the Week Ending July 15, 2012
TobyMac gives us a new number 1 song this week and he's joined by two great artists, Tenth Avenue North and Pastor Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago, who bring more wonderful music to the table.
The official Top Christian Hits Chart is compiled by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard, Cashbox and Air 1 to find the most popular songs.
After debuting a mere two weeks ago at #6, "Me Without You" has shot to the top, holding positions in seven different music charts. The song is from tobyMac's upcoming August release, Eye On It. When "Me Without You" hit the radio in late May, it was the most-added single onChristian AC and CHR radio for the week.
In week #20, the title track from MercyMe's latest release spent five weeks at #1. This is a powerful song that reminds us that no matter how deep our wounds are and no matter how horrible the pain is, God can heal it all.
In week #4 and moving down from #2, "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)" comes to us from last summer's 10,000 Reasons. With roots in Psalm 103, the impressive song has an unpolished feel that brings a raw passion to the table.
In week #5, the title track from Live Like That shifts down from the #3 spot. This majestic song puts Jesus in the spotlight and tells listeners that He is who we should try to emulate - not the world.
Debuting this week, "Losing" is from the upcoming August release, The Struggle. With 73 radio adds the first week the song was in rotation, this song is pure Tenth Avenue North, doing what they do best.Buy from Amazon »
A song that debuted back in March, the second single from Come to the Well drops down from #5 this week. The song reminds us that Jesus did not come for the well; he came for the sick. If we don't stop pointing our fingers at them and start loving them, we become stumbling blocks in their paths to Him.
Seeing its 21st week in the charts, "Overcome" is still a fan favorite. The acoustic treatment that Jeremy, a beautiful choir and guest vocalist, wife Adie, give the Desperation Band's song is spectacular. Clocking in at 8:03, you have plenty of time to worship along with them.
In week #23, after having gone all the way up to the top, "All This Time" is from Britt's latest release, Gold. She says that the song is the story of how she met Jesus, a story we can all relate to.
This week, "God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)" moves down from #6. Featuring guest vocals from Kevin Max, the title track from Newsboys November release hits all of the right notes. Strong music, strong lyrics and an overall feel that will have you on your feet, this song is a winner!
Our last song in the chart is another new tune and, just like its name says, it is awesome! The first single from The Best of Both Worlds is a crowd pleaser from the opening strains to a chorus that will get you on your feet.
