How to Know It"s Time to Quit a Blog

67
I generally encourage people not to give up on a blog too soon.
And that is certainly the case.
Many bloggers who could be successful aren't successful because they quit too soon.
But there are times when it may make sense to quit a blog.
Here are some tips for deciding whether or not it's time to quit your blog and start a new one.
1.
If you no longer feel passionate about the subject, you may want to quit.
Blogging requires a great deal of time and effort, and if you don't feel passionate about your topic, you're going to have a hard time blogging consistently about it.
2.
If you no longer believe the same way.
There are times in life when we feel that a certain thing is 100% right, no exceptions, no excuses.
For instance, people might be into a certain type of diet, and start a blog about it.
But over time, as more research is done, they may come to a different conclusion and no longer feel that viewpoint they used to write about is still valid.
If you no longer believe the same way about something, it's a good indication it's time to quit your blog.
3.
If you've spent adequate time on your blog, and it's still not successful.
First, let me say that "adequate time" is a subjective term.
But generally speaking, the more crowded your niche, the longer it will take to find success.
If you are in a very competitive niche, I would give it at least a solid year or more of blogging consistently before throwing in the towel.
Note that I used the words, "blogging consistently.
" Don't give up on your blog if you haven't spent adequate time on it and if you haven't published content consistently.
If the poor results with your blog are a result of not blogging consistently, then I'd recommend that you first take a step back, regroup, and make a fresh commitment to blogging.
Then do it regularly (at least 2 times per week) for at least 6 months before determining that it's time to quit.
