    Speaker Sound Troubleshooting

    • Check the wiring connections of your unit's speakers. They must be plugged into the DVD Receiver to properly produce sound. Make sure the muting button isn't pressed down on the speakers, as this will block out all of their sound. Unplug any devices from the speaker source jack, such as headphones, to ensure the audio is not filtering through an outside source. Check the listening mode you have set, as the "Stereo" and "Orchestra" modes will not make any sound from the center speaker of your unit. Check the center speaker's volume level, and turn it up by hand if it is set to "Minimum" to produce sound from your unit. Check your speaker's configuration and make sure you have selected one that includes your center speaker to produce sound for your unit's speakers.

    DVD/CD Sound Troubleshooting

    • Your DVD or CD may not be producing sound because you have a different input source selected. Change your input source to "DVD" if you are using a DVD, or "CD" if you are using a CD, to correct this lack of audio. Remove your DVD or CD and check it for scratches or marks, as these can eliminate their ability to produce sound. Make sure your parental lock function is not activated, as this function can prevent playback when activated.

    Tuner Sound Troubleshooting

    • Adjust your tuner's antenna if you are hearing excessive noise or feedback when you are trying to listen to the radio. Switch your frequency receiving mode to "Mono" if you are still hearing noise while listening to the radio. If you still can't hear your radio station, have a certified radio technician install an outdoor FM antenna for your unit.

    Recorder Sound Troubleshooting

    • Check that your unit supports the sound system you are trying to record. If it is DTS Surround, your unit will not be able to record it, because your unit is not compatible with DTS Surround sound under any of its modes or conversion methods. Cycle through the available methods of your unit for sound signal conversion, and make sure what you are trying to record matches up with one of the available sound signal conversion methods.
