  Children who love tractors or farms will enjoy a John Deere themed birthday party. Let friends and family know about the party with tractor-shaped invitations and decorate with a John Deere birthday cake and accessories. Entertain guests with farm-themed games before taking pictures of everyone behind a cardboard tractor cutout.
  
  

Decorations and Invitations

• Choose plates, cups, napkins and party streamers in green and yellow. John Deere balloons and plates are available, but solid colored items cost less and work well for families on a budget.
  
  Kids-Birthday-Party-Guide suggests making invitations from a tractor coloring page. Shrink the image size if necessary and outline a rectangle in the middle for writing the party details on. Fill out the details and copy the invitations. Consider sending green, yellow and black crayons so children can color their invitations.
  
  

Cake and Cupcakes

• Cover a cake with brown and green icing to represent mud and grass. Place a plastic or metal toy tractor on top, and wash it off after the party to give to the birthday boy as a present. For an edible tractor cake, purchase a farm tractor cake pan and ice the cake to resemble your child's favorite tractor. For individual cupcakes, use dark chocolate cake topped with choppy green icing, resembling grass, and place a gummi worm on each. Games

• Choose outdoor games involving farm themes. "Duck, Duck, Goose" and "Tug-of-War" both get children up and active. To give Tug-of-War a more farm-like feeling, create a mud puddle in between the two teams and see who can pull the other in first. Ask kids to bring extra clothes, or mark an area off and let children pretend it's a mud puddle to avoid getting messy. Buy or create a John Deere Tractor stand-in behind which children can have their pictures taken. This large cutout makes it appear that the child is driving a full size John Deere tractor.
