So this week I decided to take a look at what's out there, to see how many apps I could find that focus on trucks. I found a few truck-specific apps, along with a nice selection of general automotive apps that look helpful no matter what you drive.
Most of the app sites include user reviews to help you figure out if a specific app will suit your needs, but the good new is... they're usually very inexpensive, so sometimes the apps are worth a purchase even if you're not quite sure.

Automakers and the companies that design and manufacture parts and accessories for them have all started to ramp up production of apps that work with smartphones. Using your phone to unlock doors or start the vehicle are two basic tasks that current apps allow. Watch for applications that keep you in-touch with how the car or truck is running. Moving forward, auto manufactureres will no doubt provide an ever-increasing number of smartphone apps to make their vehicles more attractive to buyers.
