Elidel Side Effects
- The most common side effects while using Elidel include skin irritation and/or burning at application site, swollen hair follicles, acne, warts, headache, muscle pain, runny nose and stomach upset.
- Elidel has the potential to cause serious side effects. If swollen lymph glands, skin infections, eczema conditions worsen and swelling, dryness, pain and peeling of skin at site of application occur, consult with a physician.
- Occasionally, rare side effects may occur that include skin flushing after consuming alcohol and discoloration of skin. Swelling of face, tongue and throat is a severe allergic reaction that requires immediate medical attention.
- Elidel can interact with other medications and/or cause ineffectiveness to occur, notify the doctor if currently prescribed cimetidine (Tagament), erythromycin, antifungals and heart medication.
- Elidel has the potential to make the skin for susceptible to sunlight, tanning beds and ultraviolet rays. Protective garments and sunscreen is suggested while using this medication.
