Homemade Photo Wedding Invitations
- 1). Choose the color and pattern of your 5 x 7 and 4 x 6 cardstock, plus envelopes in both sizes, to use for your invitations and RSVP cards, respectively. You can create, print, and fold your own envelopes or purchase them. Select coordinating colors and patterns for a more cohesive look.
- 2). Create a new Microsoft Word or Adobe pdf file with the paper size set to 5 x 7. Type you and your future spouse's name, along with date, time, location, specified dress code, if any, and other information pertaining to your wedding ceremony onto your working template. If you prefer, you may enlist the help of a family member or friend to create the file for you. Set your printer properties to match your paper size.
- 3). Choose your favorite engagement photo. You can order total number of photos needed for invitations or print photos from your own printer. Glue your engagement photo onto the flip side of the 5 x 7 wedding invitation and let dry.
- 4). Create a second template file for your RSVP cards. Finalize and print out RSVP cards. If your wedding ceremony is being held in a separate location than your reception, you will need to create a third file that includes driving information. Design the file so you can have three or four sets of instructions printed on one sheet of 8 ½ x 11 paper. Cut your map sheets into thirds or quarters.
- 5). Pull together one invitation, one RSVP card, one 4x6 envelope, and one map sheet. Place all contents neatly into a 5 x 7 envelope. Write or affix an address label for the recipient on the envelope. Write or attach your own return address label then seal the envelope. Mail invitations or deliver them in person when all have been assembled.
