2000 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Specifications

    • In 1936, Chevrolet introduced the Suburban to the automotive industry. The Suburban was produced under the names of General Motors Company, Holden and Chevrolet throughout the years until 2000, when GMC renamed their vehicle the Yukon. The 2000 Suburban 2500 was a three-quarter ton sports utility vehicle manufactured by Chevrolet more than 10 years ago and came in four trim levels: base, LS and LT. All were available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

    Exterior Features

    • The exterior dimensions of each trim of the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 varied slightly between rear-wheel and four-wheel drive. The height of the rear-wheel-drive vehicles was 74.3 inches; and the height of the four-wheel-drive vehicles was 74.4 inches. All vehicles had an overall length of 219.3 inches, a width of 79.8 inches and a wheelbase of 130 inches. Each trim of the vehicle came with chrome bumpers, daytime running lights and 16-inch diameter wheels.

    Interior Features

    • All trims of the 2000 Suburban 2500 had the same interior dimensions. The maximum seating capacity was nine. The front headroom was 40.7 inches, front shoulder room was 65.2 inches, front hip room was 61.4 inches, and front leg room was 41.3 inches. The rear head room was 39 inches, rear shoulder room was 65.1 inches, rear hip room was 61.6 inches and rear leg room was 39.1 inches. The 2500 base model came standard with vinyl seating; the LS came standard with cloth seating; and the LT came standard with leather seating. Other features that came standard on all trims included power door locks, power steering and tilt steering wheel. The LS and LT came with rear split bench seats and power heated mirrors.

    Safety Features

    • All trims of the vehicle came standard with driver and passenger airbags and four wheel antilock brakes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave all trims of the 2000 Suburban 2500 a four-star rating for both driver and passenger impact.

    Engine

    • All trim levelss of the 2000 Suburban 2500 were powered by a 6-liter V-8 engine with 300 hp at 4,800 rpm and 355 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The rear-wheel-drive versions had a maximum payload of 3,153 lb. and a maximum towing capacity of 10,500 lb. The four-wheel-drive versions had a maximum payload of 2,839 lb. and a maximum towing capacity of 10,100 lb.
